Founded & hosted by Nadia · Small group yoga, nature and wellness retreats on the world's first Dark Sky Island

A burnout retreat can give you time away from the work routine that has been taking too much from you. Sark Soul offers five nights on a small Channel Island, with yoga, meals, coastal time and the practical parts of the week organised in advance.

The World Health Organization describes burnout as an occupational phenomenon resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.

A real break

What time away can do

Research on recovery from work identifies psychological detachment from work as an important recovery experience.

Research on holidays and respite also finds that time away can reduce burnout and improve wellbeing while the break lasts, while gains can fade after people return to unchanged working conditions.

Five nights on Sark are a period of respite, not a promise about what happens after you go home.

The island

A car-free island in the Channel Islands

Sark is a small, car-free island in the Channel Islands, a self-governing Crown Dependency within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Walking, bicycles and horse-drawn carriages are part of everyday movement around the island, with tractors used for local work and transport.

There is mobile signal and wifi. You can stay reachable while spending five nights away from your normal work setting.

The day

Yoga morning and evening

Morning yoga starts early and breakfast follows. The middle of the day and afternoons are free around the guided parts of the week. Evening practice and dinner close the day.

The retreat includes twice-daily yoga with pranayama and meditation, guided walks and wild swimming, and one evening at Sark Observatory. Meals are vegetarian, prepared by a private chef and eaten together family style.

Massage, Reiki and guided breathwork with cold immersion can be booked separately, usually before arrival with some flexibility once you are on Sark.
