We’re so happy you’re considering joining us on Sark for a soul-nourishing retreat. The following terms are here to make sure everything runs smoothly for you and for us. Please take a moment to read them; by booking with Sark Soul Island Retreats, you agree to these terms.
1. Booking of the Retreat
(a) No contract will exist until we receive your £300 deposit. Your booking will not be considered secured until your deposit has been received.
(b) When you book a retreat with Sark Soul Island Retreats, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
(c) Your privacy matters to us. See section 13 for how your details are used.
2. Group Bookings
(a) Where a booking is made on behalf of multiple participants, the person submitting the booking and payment confirms that they are authorised to act on behalf of all individuals named on the booking.
(b) These Terms & Conditions apply equally to each group member as if they had booked and paid for their place individually.
3. Payment of the Retreat
(a) All prices are listed in GBP.
(b) The price is the exact amount to be received in full by us, listed in GBP.
(c) The balance of your retreat fee is due 60 days before the start of the retreat, by payment link or bank transfer to the account specified in the confirmation email sent to you once your deposit has been received and your booking confirmed.
(d) If full payment is not received 60 days or more prior to the start date of the retreat, we will assume that you wish to cancel your booking. In this case, the deposit will be retained in accordance with clause 7(b).
4. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all participants obtain comprehensive travel insurance. Your policy should cover the activities included in the retreat, as well as unforeseen events such as cancellation, illness, injury, loss of belongings, or any other risks associated with travel and participation.
Please bring a copy of your insurance policy with you in case of emergency.
5. Getting to Sark
Your travel arrangements to and from Sark, including all ferries, flights, trains, and transfers, are your sole responsibility. We recommend allowing ample time for your journey and travelling with flexibility and ease.
Please ensure that you have checked all travel schedules, documentation, and connection times carefully before departure.
Sark Soul Island Retreats cannot accept responsibility or liability for any travel delays, cancellations, missed connections, or other disruptions to your journey, nor for any resulting costs or losses. We strongly recommend that your travel insurance covers such eventualities.
6. Health & Well-being
(a) It is your responsibility to inform your hosts and yoga teacher of any existing injuries or medical conditions and to remain mindful of your own physical limits during all retreat activities. If you experience any pain, injury, or discomfort, you must stop immediately.
(b) You are advised to consult a doctor familiar with yoga and physical exercise to ensure that you are fit to participate in yoga classes and any other physical activities you may choose to take part in during the retreat.
(c) Please inform us of any mental or physical health conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements prior to booking. If any condition may be affected by retreat activities, we reserve the right to advise you not to participate in certain sessions or, where necessary, to decline your booking in the interest of your safety and that of others.
(d) While every effort is made to maintain high health and safety standards, our retreats take place in natural surroundings where terrain may be uneven. We cannot accept responsibility for injuries resulting from natural landscape conditions.
(e) Participation in swims and other retreat activities is undertaken at your own risk. We shall not be liable for any injuries or accidents sustained during retreat activities.
7. If You Need to Cancel
(a) We understand that plans can change. You may cancel your booking at any time by providing written notice from the person who made the original booking. Cancellation will take effect on the date we receive that written notification.
(b) If you cancel your booking within 90 days of the retreat start date, your deposit becomes non-refundable. If you cancel within 60 days of the retreat start date, any amounts that were due and formally invoiced remain owed.
(c) Your booking covers the full length of the retreat. We are unable to offer refunds for any unused days or activities.
(d) If your reason for leaving early is covered by your travel insurance, you may be able to claim a refund from your insurer.
8. Changes Made by Us
(a) From time to time, changes may be necessary, such as to yoga teachers, class times, or other retreat details. We reserve the right to make such amendments at any time. We will always aim to make these changes smoothly and maintain the quality of your experience.
(b) If your accommodation must be changed, we will do our best to arrange a similar or higher standard alternative.
(c) If a significant change becomes necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible prior to your arrival.
9. If We Have to Cancel
While it is very unlikely, we reserve the right to cancel a retreat in any circumstances. Each retreat requires a minimum of 75 percent of participant places to be booked at least 45 days prior to the start date.
If this minimum number is not met, we may cancel the retreat and will issue a full refund of all payments received.
10. Our Responsibility
(a) We accept responsibility for ensuring that our retreats are delivered as described and that the services we are contractually obliged to provide are carried out to a reasonable standard.
(b) We cannot accept liability for cancellations, delays, or alterations caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to war, threat of war, terrorist activity, civil unrest, natural disasters, industrial action, transport issues, staff illness or cancellation, or unforeseen changes in your personal circumstances.
(c) Participation in yoga classes, swims, or any other retreat activities is undertaken entirely at your own risk. We do not accept liability for any injury, loss, or damage you may sustain, nor for any medical or psychological conditions arising during or after the retreat. We are not responsible for loss of, or damage to, personal property.
11. Your Belongings
You are responsible for the security of your personal belongings throughout your stay, including any rented equipment. We cannot accept responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal items during the retreat.
12. Complaints
If any issues arise during your retreat, please notify your retreat host immediately and she will do her best to resolve the matter promptly. We cannot be held responsible for the personal conduct of other group members.
13. Privacy
