Getting here, step by step

Step 1: Travel to Guernsey. Guernsey is the main gateway to Sark. There are direct flights to Guernsey from the UK and Europe including Aurigny, British Airways and Loganair. You may also choose to travel via ferry from the UK or France if you prefer a sea crossing. Many guests travelling to our Sark Island yoga retreat come via London to Guernsey.

Step 2: Ferry from Guernsey to Sark. From Guernsey, a passenger ferry with Sark Shipping takes you across to Sark. The crossing takes about 45 minutes, passing islands on the horizon. The ferry crossing creates a natural transition from mainland pace to island rhythm before your wellness retreat even begins. Ferry times vary by day, and we will share recommended sailings once bookings are confirmed.

Arrival on Sark. Sark is car-free. On arrival, your luggage is taken care of, and you travel up from the harbour by the island’s tractor-drawn toast rack, then on to the farmhouse by horse and carriage. This fun and unique arrival sets the tone for the days ahead. Our Visiting Sark page covers every detail.

Booking your place

To book your space, please choose your room option on the booking page and complete the booking form. A £300 deposit per person is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance will be due 45 days before the immersion.

Once your deposit is received your place is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email, and Nadia will be in touch to support you with travel, arrival, and any questions. From here, everything unfolds gently and with support.

Shared rooms

Many of our guests join on their own and choose to share a room as part of the retreat experience. Shared rooms are suitable for guests travelling solo or for friends attending together.

We will do our best to thoughtfully match you with another guest of the same gender who is also looking to share. While we cannot guarantee a sharing match in advance, we will always keep you informed. If a suitable match is not possible, the single occupancy rate would apply.

Booking with a friend? If you are travelling with a friend and would like to reserve a shared room together, please ensure that both deposits are paid at the time of booking so the room can be confirmed for you. One person may pay on behalf of both guests if preferred, please include both names in the booking or payment reference.

Room availability. Rooms marked as ‘Booking in progress’ are temporarily unavailable while an existing booking is being finalised. Rooms are marked ‘Sold out’ once bookings are fully booked and no longer available.

Your Questions, answered

When is the next retreat and what does it cost?

The next retreat runs 12 to 17 September 2026, five nights. The shared room early booking rate is £1,495 until 31 July 2026, then £1,695, and a single room at the early rate is £1,995. All meals, daily yoga, guided walks and activities are included. Full details are on our [retreats page](/retreats-on-sark).

Are yoga retreats worth it?

An honest answer: it depends on the retreat. A good one gives you structure, teaching and rest you would not manage on your own, and the effect should last weeks, not days. Ours is built so the place does half the work: real darkness for deep sleep, sea air, no traffic, twice daily yoga and every meal cooked for you. You arrive tired and leave different.

What makes Sark different from other UK yoga retreats?

Sark is a car-free island in the Channel Islands with designated Dark Sky status, offering complete quiet: no traffic noise, no street lighting and minimal commercial distraction. This natural stillness supports deeper rest and nervous system regulation in a way most mainland retreats cannot replicate. Unlike many UK yoga retreats located near towns or busy coastlines, a yoga retreat on Sark Island offers peace and uninterrupted night skies.

Is it really that dark at night?

Yes. The night skies are extraordinary, with zero light pollution and more stars than most guests have ever seen. Sark was the world's first designated Dark Sky Island, protected by having no street lighting. One evening of your retreat is given over to a guided session at the Sark Observatory, and on a clear night the Milky Way is plainly visible. It's one of the things guests remember most about their stay.

Is there phone signal and wifi on Sark?

Yes. Sark has both signal and wifi, so you can stay reachable if you need to be. The sense of switching off here comes from the island itself, the slower pace, the quiet, and the dark skies, rather than from being cut off. Most guests simply find they stop reaching for their phones.

Do I need to be experienced in Yoga to join?

No experience is required. Our yoga retreat on Sark Island is suitable for mixed levels. Each session offers options and variations, so whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice, you will feel supported. The emphasis is on presence, breath and reconnection rather than performance. Monica's teaching is supportive, inclusive, and adaptable, whether you're new to the practice or have been on the mat for years. This UK island yoga retreat focuses on depth and awareness rather than intensity. As Amanda, a May 2026 guest, put it: "I have never been on a yoga retreat so I had very few expectations. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely come again."

How do I get to Sark Island?

Guests typically travel to Guernsey by flight or ferry from the UK, then take the connecting ferry to Sark, about 45 minutes. The journey is straightforward and well signposted. Once on Sark, there are no cars, which is part of the island's charm and stillness. Full travel guidance is provided after booking.

How do I get around the island?

Sark is car-free, so bicycles are the natural way to explore. After breakfast each day we head to different parts of the island, with time to explore at your own pace too. Electric bikes tend to be the most comfortable option and are easy to use, even if you've never ridden one before. We're happy to reserve an electric bike so it's ready at the house when you arrive, or you're welcome to arrange hire yourself on the island. Electric bikes are around £19.50 per day, and based on the week's schedule, four days is typically all you'd need.

Can I come solo?

Absolutely. Most of our guests come alone and often leave with lifelong friends. If you'd like to share a room, we'll do our best to match you with another solo guest, though this can't be guaranteed. Yvonne, who joined us in May 2026, said: "I was quite nervous about coming on my own and sharing a room. I have thoroughly enjoyed it, including the yoga."

Is the retreat women only?

No. Everyone is welcome. Most of our guests happen to be women travelling solo, but men join us too, alone and as couples, and the retreat is the same warm small group for everyone.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

Mats and props are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.

What should I pack?

Keep it simple. We recommend comfortable clothes for yoga and relaxing, a warm layer for cooler evenings by the sea, a light waterproof just in case, a torch, and trainers or comfortable shoes for walking the island. Bring swimwear for the sea or pool, and a reusable water bottle if you have one. Sea shoes can be useful for the beach, though this is entirely optional. Other than that, just bring yourself, we'll take care of everything else here.

Are towels and toiletries provided?

Yes. There's no need to bring a beach towel, as we'll have a towel available for you to use for the pool or beach during your stay. We also provide shampoo and conditioner, so there's no need to worry about packing those, especially helpful if you're travelling with hand luggage only.

Are treatments included?

Massage, Reiki and Breathwork add ons are available with our Soul team at an additional cost. Optional treatments allow you to personalise your Sark wellness retreat experience.

How many participants per retreat?

Each Sark Island yoga retreat is limited to no more than twelve guests. We keep the group intentionally small to ensure intimacy, personal attention and a calm atmosphere. Small group size is central to the depth of this Channel Islands wellness retreat.

Do you cater to dietary requirements and allergies?

Yes. We ask all guests about dietary needs or allergies when onboarding, and our chef is happy to accommodate. All meals are vegetarian and designed to support your yoga and retreat experience.

What level of fitness do I need to have to attend the retreat?

A general level of fitness is helpful for enjoying our walk, yoga and time outdoors, but this is your retreat, so you can always take things at your own pace. This is a restorative yoga retreat, not a fitness bootcamp.

Do I need Travel insurance?

Yes. We strongly recommend that all participants obtain travel insurance.
