Ferry planning, today's weather, walking, wild swimming, dark skies and the practical details that make a few days on the island easier.
Sark is a small Channel Island reached by sea, explored on foot or by bicycle, and best understood after the last ferry has left.
Check today's weather and official ferry information, then use the guides below to plan the journey, the coast and an overnight stay.
Checking today's sailings...
Arrive at least 30 minutes before your sailing. The ferry departs on schedule.
Times come live from Sark Shipping's booking system, where all sailings are booked. Always confirm your sailing with Sark Shipping before travelling.
Loading today's forecast...
Forecast data from Open-Meteo. Check local notices before swimming or visiting the cliffs.
Checking today's flights...
There is no airport on Sark. Guests travel to Guernsey, flying or sailing in, then cross by ferry. Times come live from Guernsey Airport's own flight information, where the full board lives. Always confirm your flight with your airline.
Reading today's tide curve...
Modelled tide times for the sea off Sark, from Open-Meteo's marine model at grid cell near 49.43N 2.35W, not a tide gauge reading. The tidal range here is among the largest anywhere, so always check the official coast guidance and local notices before going down to the shore.

There is no airport on Sark. Guests travel to Guernsey by flight or ferry from the UK, then cross with Sark Shipping, about 45 minutes. Our Getting to Sark guide covers every step.
Sark is car-free, for residents and visitors alike, though tractors do the island's heavy work. Bicycles, horse-drawn carriages and your own feet do the rest.
Yes. Staying overnight gives you the lanes, coast and night sky at their best, after the last day boat has gone.
Clear nights with little moonlight offer the best conditions. In 2011, Sark became the world's first Dark Sky Island.

Sark works without private cars. Most journeys are made on foot, by bicycle or by horse-drawn carriage.
Wild swimming, tidal pools, cliffs, sea caves and nights without public street lighting.
Open species lists from the people who record the island, plants, birds, butterflies, moths, bats and marine life, with the rocks beneath it all.
A small island with a long record of settlement, government, occupation, folklore and extraordinary characters.
Seasonal light, changing weather, practical footwear and the small details that make the trip easier.
The island changes in the evening. Staying overnight gives you the lanes, coast and night sky at their best.
A few things worth knowing before you go, alongside the live details above.
Sark uses the Guernsey Pound, accepted alongside British Pounds, and the Euro is taken in a number of places. There is no cash machine on the island, though several shops and cafes offer cashback with a debit card purchase, usually with a minimum spend of £5.
There is mobile signal and wifi on Sark. Coverage is reliable around the village but patchy on the western cliffs, most beaches, much of Little Sark and on the cliff paths.
Sark has a resident doctor and a Medical Centre, with surgeries held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings by appointment. Sark sits outside the NHS, and medical transfers to Guernsey are not covered by the UK reciprocal health arrangement, so travel insurance is essential.
Sark has four cycle hire outlets in the village area, offering electric bikes and regular pushbikes in a range of frame sizes. Bicycles must be dismounted and walked across La Coupee.
Sark keeps its own calendar: the Harbour Carnival, a Lawnmower Race, a Foraging Weekend, the Church Fete and Starfest. Dates move year to year, so check locally when you arrive or ask us before you travel.
Walking is built into the day. The coast is never far away. At night, the island goes dark enough for the Milky Way to appear across the sky. Wild swimming and tidal pools are shaped by the weather and tide, so the best place changes from day to day, and the lanes are walked, cycled or ridden by horse-drawn carriage rather than built around private cars.
The island's wildlife is counted, and the counts are public: plants, birds, butterflies, moths and the Gouliot Caves marine list.
The things guests always ask before they come, in one place: the ferry, the luggage system, what to pack, and what the first evening feels like.
